Kristie Burge is a proud Noongar woman with both Aboriginal and English heritage, who walks strongly in two worlds while honouring her connection to community, culture, and identity. Having lived and worked on Wiradjuri Country in Dubbo for nearly a decade, Kristie is deeply connected and respected within the community.
Her career spans over 15 years in mining, construction, logistics, and operations across the Pilbara, as well as more than 8 years in child protection, out-of-home care, youth services, and the NSW Justice system. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Graduate Certificate in Health Management, and a Master's Degree in Health Services Management.
Kristie has been recognised with academic awards from Charles Sturt University and the Uniting CEO’s Outstanding Achievement Award for her contributions to the 2023 Yes Campaign.
With expertise in cultural engagement, leadership, program implementation, and strategic planning, she is deeply committed to reducing the overrepresentation of Aboriginal children in care, addressing incarceration, and advancing community-led solutions that honour self-determination.
Kristie is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of Bunmabunmarra Service Australia, delivering culturally safe, trauma-informed services in Central West NSW. Under her leadership, Bunmabunmarra is growing into a respected service provider across Western NSW, delivering programs that strengthen families, enhance safety, and create pathways for long-term change.
